The Family Doctor – Debra Oswald

The story follows Paula, a dedicated suburban general practitioner (GP) who is deeply traumatized after her close friend and her friend’s children are murdered by an estranged, violent husband. Haunted by feelings of guilt and the failure of the legal system to protect them, Paula faces a severe ethical dilemma when a patient arrives at her clinic showing clear signs of domestic abuse. Terrified of what will happen if the patient leaves her husband, Paula must decide how far she is willing to go—and if she can justify taking a life to save a life.
