Patterns of Culture – Ruth Benedict

Originally published in 1934, Patterns of Culture is a foundational work in cultural anthropology. In it, Benedict argues that a people’s culture is an integrated whole—a “personality writ large”. The book explores this thesis through case studies of three contrasting cultures:
