The story follows Akhila, a 45-year-old single woman and income-tax clerk who has lived her life according to the needs of her family. Seeking independence, she takes a train journey to Kanyakumari. In the “ladies’ coupé” of the train, she meets five other women who share their personal stories of love, marriage, and motherhood, helping Akhila decide if a woman can truly be happy and complete without a man.
